Meggitt Defense Systems’ threat assessment products are helping bring true situational awareness, enhancing operational influence, and most importantly protecting the warfighter and equipment.
The threat reporting and cued response (TRACER) is an independent projectile detection and tracking system that provides threat categorization and initial aiming cues to the location of shooters in close range situations. Rounds are detected and tracked only when they come within a specified radius of TRACER-equipped vehicles.
Projectile observables are used for classification and then trajectory data in combination with classification data is used to extrapolate trajectory toward round origin for initial aiming cue.
